Highest Safety Standards
Since our inception in 2007 NYMEC has experienced zero accidents or injuries on our job sites.
We value the health and safety of our employees and subcontractors. Our key personnel are already OSHA 30-hour certified and lead certified. We continually encourage our field team personnel to obtain OSHA 30-hour and other safety-related certifications as well. All project managers, on-staff engineers and architects, foremen, electricians and field team personnel are required to have:
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification
- Construction Safety and Health Certification
- Asbestos Training and Certification
- Combined Space Training and Certification
- Scaffolding Training and Certification
Our outstanding safety record can be directly attributed to our thorough safety protocols that we have in place. These protocols include the development of a comprehensive Safety Prevention Program and a Site Safety Program for each project.
On all NYMEC job sites, our superintendent has a NYMEC site-specific manual that includes “toolbox talks,” visitor logs, an OSHA 300 log, and a 301 incident/accident reporting log. The superintendent may refer to the manual at any time to address employee safety concerns.
Toolbox talks are conducted every week on every job site. The purpose is to reinforce general safety, the use of personal protection equipment, scaffolding safety (if it’s in use on that particular site), proper signage and any other safety issues that may need to be addressed.
We have certified operators for all heavy equipment machinery for all of our large projects. This includes:
- Crane Rigging
- 125-Foot Man Lift
- Caterpillar Telehandler
- Diesel Cable Power
Continuing safety education is made available to all of NYMEC’s tradesmen and safety staff. This includes discussions on safety regulations changes, code revisions, etc. Also, we realize that operating a safe worksite keeps all projects on schedule. At NYMEC we are extremely proud of our safety record and are doing everything possible to maintain our zero accident record.
